Years ago, I was a young adult librarian. I knew every YA book published and all the new and upcoming authors to watch out for.
Earlier this year, I reflected on all I learned as a writer in 2020. There were so many difficult things about last year, but lockdown gave me a great opportunity to grow my craft.
Are you a pantser or a plotter?
I think that if there's one thing we can all agree on, it's how much last year sucked. Yet somehow, it was also the year I grew the most as an author.
Today is MLK Day, which celebrates the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. While his birthday is on January 15, it is celebrated nationally on the third Monday of January.
One thing I’ve really missed this past year is wearing earrings. I can still wear studs, but anything that dangles is onerous when I have to wear a mask all day (this is my 20 minute lunch break where I get to sit in a room by myself and take a mask break). It’s such a small thing, yet another reminder of how much has changed in a year.
