Netgalley + Edelweiss 2021 Reading Challenge

I don’t like to set numerical reading goals for myself anymore due to reading burnout (and burnout from life in general), but I like setting types of reading goals. For example, one of my reading goals for 2021 is to catch up on reading the eARCs and Goodreads Giveaway books I’ve received over the past several months or years.

Recently, I found out about the NetGalley & Edelweiss Reading Challenge from Confessions of a YA Reader and hosted by Socrates’ Book Reviews. The challenge encourages readers and bloggers to read through (and review) the digital ARCs they’ve received from NetGalley and/or Edelweiss. Personally, I currently have seven eARCs downloaded from Edelweiss, and I can’t even remember my NetGalley login information back from my librarian days. My goal is to first read through and review the books I have from Edelweiss before I request anymore and then to find my NetGalley login to even figure out how many books I never reviewed from years ago, then hunt those books down at a bookstore or library and review them.

Since I don’t set numerical reading goals, I’m striving for the Bronze level of the challenge, meaning if I read and review even one book for this challenge, then I’ll be happy and consider it a success. I’m currently reading The Infinity Courts, which I just got approved for and is actually one of the books I can’t wait to read this year, so I’m pretty excited about it!

Whether you’re a book blogger or a reader, you’re welcome to join me in the challenge! The challenge guidelines are listed below, and you can sign up on Socrates’ Book Reviews. If you decide to join, please leave a comment to let me know!

Challenge guidelines…

  • The challenge runs from January 1, 2021 – December 31, 2021. There is no deadline to sign up.
  • Everyone is welcome to participate – you do not need to have a blog.
  • Any genre, release date, length, etc. counts – it just needs to be a book from NetGalley or Edelweiss.
  • Books can count for more than one challenge that you are participating in.
  • The first day of each month I (Socrates’ Book Reviews) will post a monthly “link-up” for you to link your reviews. If you forget one month, no worries, just catch up the next month.

The Levels…

  • Bronze – 10 Books
  • Silver – 25 Books
  • Gold – 50 Books
  • Platinum – 75 Books
  • Diamond – 100 Books
